What number increased by 100% becomes 100

Hi there!

Step 1: Convert 100% to decimal

100% = 1.0

Step 2: Call the number you want to find "x", then:

                 [x is increased by 100% (=1) equals 100]

equivalent to

                 [x + x*100% = 100]

or              [x + x*1 = 100]

                 [2x=100]

                 [x=50]

Final answer: x=50
