What is the Paleo diet?

The paleo diet, or Paleolithic diet, is a diet that consists of foods that were thought to have been eaten by early humans. For this reason, it is sometimes called the “cavemen” diet. The diet focuses on the consumption of fruits, vegetables, eggs, and meats. Foods that were not present during the time of early Homo sapiens are excluded from the paleo diet. Such foods include any processed foods, refined sugars, trans fats, grains, and dairy products.

As identified in the link below, Rob Wolf, claims that the people who follow the paleo diet benefit from the below advantages:

  • Stable blood sugar

  • Improved blood lipids

  • Sustained energy for better workouts

  • Weight loss

  • Improved complexion of the skin

  • Improved sleep patterns

  • A reduction in allergies

  • A reversal in type 2 diabetes
