Near which geologic structure are the youngest rocks on earth found?

The youngest rocks on Earth may be found in a few different places with one thing in common—geologic activity! New rock material is being laid down all the time wherever volcanoes are active, so anywhere a volcano is erupting, that's where you'll find the youngest rock material. Aside from volcanoes, the youngest rock material in a particular area is most likely towards the top of the many layers of Earth's crust. In contrast, some of the oldest rock material on Earth is at the very bottom of the ocean. The deepest part of the ocean lies inside the Mariana Trench, where two tectonic plates are grinding against one another. Along the western edge of the Pacific Plate is some of the oldest rock material on Earth.
