Describe 3 differences between Walter Cunningham Jr. and Burris Ewell.

Firstly, Walter Cunningham Jr. is a rather shy, quiet individual who doesn't like attention. When Miss Caroline speaks to Walter, he gives one-word answers and shakes his head. Burris Ewell acts totally opposite, and is a loud individual who isn't afraid to speak his mind.

Secondly, Walter Cunningham Jr. treats others with respect and has good manners. Burris Ewell is a disrespectful individual who raises his voice to Miss Caroline and verbally attacks her when she threatens to tell the principal about his behavior.

Thirdly, Walter's family has integrity and is respected throughout the community. Atticus tells his daughter that Walter's family has not taken anything that they could not pay back since they came to America. Walter cannot pay back Miss Caroline, so he refuses to take her quarter for lunch. Burris' family is viewed with contempt throughout Maycomb. Everyone is aware that Burris' father is an ignorant alcoholic, and that the Ewells are not to be trusted.
