Why do the characters in the novel Bud, Not Buddy call Herman E. Calloway's house Grand Calloway Station?

At the beginning of Chapter 15, Bud arrives at Herman E. Calloway's home after eating dinner at the Sweet Pea. Bud mentions that Herman's house is big as he grabs his suitcase and hops out of the car. Miss Thomas says to Bud that they call Herman's home Grand Calloway Station. Bud is curious and asks Miss Thomas why the house has its own name. Miss Thomas explains to Bud that a long time ago, there were so many visitors coming and going at different hours of the day and night, that Herman E. Calloway said that it reminded him of the Grand Central Station in New York City. Grand Central Station is one of America's busiest railroad terminals. Miss Thomas tells Bud that the name kind of stuck and that's why he calls his home Grand Calloway Station.
