What were the "joys" of learning? Answer with reference to The Story of My Life.

Helen was overcome with joy when she realized that each thing had a name.  First, Ms. Sullivan taught Helen that the letters "w-a-t-e-r" being spelled into her hand meant the cool liquid from the pump.  It was at that moment that the "living word awakened [her] soul, gave it light, hope, joy, set it free!"  Then Helen joyfully asked for the names of many other things.  She "learn[ed] the name of every object that [she] touched" in the days following her awakening.  Helen found happiness in learning new words.  This was the joy of learning for her.

She learned to appreciate nature in a new way.  She loved feeling and smelling flowers, as well as learning their names.  Nature brought joy to Helen for the rest of her life.

Helen grew happier and happier as she learned more and more.  She loved learning and exploring the world around her.  Helen's joy of learning continued for the rest of her life.
